Die Ikone aller Holocaustleugner ist wieder da. David Irving hat seinen mehr als einjährigen Aufenthalt in einem österreichischen Knast gut überstanden. Und macht heiter weiter. Was wäre, wenn jemand ihn einen Antisemiten nennen würde? Wäre er beleidigt und würde klagen? Und hätte er vor einem deutschen Gericht eine Chance, Recht zu bekommen? Vielleicht vor dem LG Frankfurt, das besonders enge Maßstäbe an den Begriff “Antisemitismus” anlegt? Er ist ja nicht der einzige, der behauptet, Juden seien an ihrem Unglück selber schuld. 

In an interview with The Guardian, Irving said that his beliefs regarding the Holocaust had not changed at all, and that they had crystallised over the years. In the books he plans to publish, Irving blames Jews for the “events”, as he called them, in which millions perished. In the interview the discredited historian said that Jews were responsible for what happened in World War II and blamed the “Jewish problem” for most of this century’s wars. “The Jews are the architects of their own misfortune,” he said.
