Nachdem die Free-Free-Gaza-Schiffe die israelische Blockade durchbrochen und Gaza in Richtung Zypern wieder verlassen haben, wobei die ersehnte Konfrontation mit der zionistischen Armee zum zweiten Mal ausgeblieben ist, stehen drei Fragen im Raum, die beantwortet werden wollen:

Erstens: Wo ist Hedy Epstein abgeblieben? Die 84jährige Holocaustüberlebende, die sich für die Rechte der Palästinenser einsetzt und deren Schicksal mit dem der Juden im 3. Reich vergleicht. (http://www.hedyepstein.de/) Ihr Name findet sich weder auf der Liste derjenigen, die in Gaza geblieben sind, noch auf de Liste derjenigen, die Gaza verlassen haben. Sie wird doch nicht über Bord gegangen sein? Oder heimlich rübergemacht haben nach Israel? Überzeugen sie sich selbst:

( GAZA CITY , 28 August 2008) - After having shattered the Israeli blockade of Gaza earlier this week, the Free Gaza and Liberty will depart Gaza for Cyprus at 2pm today. Several Palestinians who have previously been denied exit visas by Israel will join international human rights workers on the journey. Among the Palestinians leaving are Saed Mosleh, age 10, of Beit Hanoun, Gaza .  Saed lost his leg due to an Israeli tank shell and is leaving Gaza with his father to seek medical treatment. Also on board are the Darwish family, who will finally be reunited with their relatives in Cyprus… .

Nine international human rights workers will remain in Gaza to do longer-term monitoring and accompaniment , and one, Dr. Bill Dienst of Omak , Washington , will attempt to cross over into Israel later today via the Erez crossing…

Yvonne Ridley, a journalist and member for the Free Gaza Movement, summed up her experience in Gaza by saying, “I missed the start of the Berlin Wall coming down by just a few days, but now I know how people felt when they tore down those first few bricks. This has been a huge victory of people over power.”

With the collapse of the Israeli blockade, the Free Gaza Movement will quickly return to Gaza with another delegation, and they would like to encourage the United Nations, Arab League and international community to organize similar human rights and humanitarian efforts. The Free Gaza Movement will continue to work to ensure that safe passage between Gaza and the outside world will remain free and open.

Zweitens: Die ganze Aktion soll 500.000.- Dollar gekostet haben. Rechnen Sie mal nach, wieviel Lebensmittel, Schulbücher, Spielzeuge, Fahrräder und Taschenlampen man hätte von diesem Geld kaufen und sie den Not leidenden Kindern von Gaza schenken können, statt das Geld für eine PR-Aktion von Leichtmatrosen auszugeben, die auch einmal etwas ganz Besonderes erleben wollten und dabei nur das Mittelmeer vollgekotzt haben.

Drittens: Sieben Palästinenser wurden aus Gaza nach Zypern evakuiert. Jetzt rechnen Sie mal nach: In Gaza leben 1,5 Millionen Palästinenser. Bei einem Bevölkerungswachstum von mehr als 3,5% wird sich die Bevölkerung in etwa 20 Jahren verdoppelt haben - so etwas nennt man “schleichenden Völkermord”. Das heißt, im Jahre 2028 werden etwa drei Millionen Palästinenser in Gaza leben. Und nun die Frage: Wie lange wird es dauern, wenn unter den jetzigen Bedingungen - sieben Personen pro Passage - der ganze Gazastreifen evakuiert sein wird?
